Drizzy Drake…By now, everyone’s caught on to Drake madness, so this piece comes in good timing. What can I say…probably a very strong inspiration to this site, as well as one of the fastest rising hip hop figures in recent history, Drake totes a long rap sheet in terms of lyrical metaphors that will take your temporarily remove your brain from your skull…Yeah. Canadian native, Drake credits both his mothers witty scrabble skills and his father’s southern pimp influenced language as the reason for his lyrical inclinations. After two respected efforts in Room For Improvement & Comeback Season in 06 &07, Mid February of 09 made way for his 3rd and latest project, So Far Gone. After receiving rave reviews, and becoming the center piece of a lengthy bidding war between some BIG named record companies, he recently signed some form of a “Distribution Deal” to Young Money Ent/Universal Records, though he gloats that he owns himself 100% and is in full control over the creative process behind his act...needless to say, something that VERY FEW rappers can say about their deal. It was also recently said that his deal was the worst for any major record label in recent history...Needless to say, he milked the game for what it's worth. His marketable presentation, upscale fashion sense, along with a strong ability to capture the female attention span, it’s no wonder why his first single, WHICH HE NOR DID HIS MANAGEMENT CHOOSE TO PUT OUT, sky rocketed to #3 on the billboard charts in earlier last month. In a nutshell…the man is the future of hip hop, it’s safe to say that by now. With that said, he has not put out an album yet, which leaves LARGE room for disappointment in error…but it leaves LARGER opportunity for greatness. For now, his debut album "Thank Me Later" is scheduled to be released by the end of 09 but we'll see how that goes. For a while…he’ll be forced to play 3rd place behind Wayne & H.O.V.(In no particular order) but one can only wonder…for how long?
